The claws are out once again!
Things got real ugly last night on American Idol between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. At one point during the show, Nicki pulled a cotton swab out her purse and told Mariah she needed to clean her ears, and during another segment, while critiquing a contestant, Mariah somewhat taunted Nicki for never having a #1 on the Billboard (Mariah has plenty, of course).
Things spilled over to Twitter today after Perez Hilton posted that Mariah “burned” Nicki with her insults. Nicki snapped back:
Bwaha! Burn? Shes sad i tied her record for Hot 100 entries in only 3 years of being in the game. Yep, a black female rapper. What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy a–) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter.
All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that. Lol, ok yall r so damn shady! Bye barbz!!!! Mmmuah!!!!
Well it looks as though these two won’t be besties anytime soon.
Meanwhile, it seems as though Nicki might have been dropping some tea on J. Lo returning to American Idol. According to reports, Jennifer Lopez recently approached the producers about returning because she wanted stability since she will be putting her kids in school in LA. The media ran with it and said that J. Lo may be replacing Mariah next season, however J. Lo’s team claims that her intent wasn’t to replace her.
If there was a ‘secret plot’ to replace Mariah, as has been suggested, then it was all FOX… J.Lo’s approach was about the future. Not the present. She’s talking about next season.
