Today Chris Brown released a statement to select media outlets confirming the break up.
“I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don’t want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna. I’d rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives.”

As you may have seen Chris Brown and Rihanna were spotted together in New York City on Monday Oct. 1 in which they were rumored to be caught engaging in a bathroom session at Griffin. The following night, Oct. 2, Chris Brown and Rihanna met up again at 1Oak. As if these rondevues weren’t enough to confirm a split between Chris Brown and his girlfriend, Chris and Ri Ri were spotted at Jay-Z’s concert at the Barclays Center holding hands and kissing on Octover 3rd. Following their concert “date”, Chris tweeted, “Both r Free from it all!”
It seems as though Rihanna may feel like her and Chris are past the “tough times” as she tweeted “Tough times don’t last…. But tough people do!!!” after three days with Chris.
