The incident occurred Friday night around 9:50 p.m. when Lowery-Gale reportedly side-swiped another vehicle. When cops stopped her, they noticed that there were eight children in the vehicle and that she appeared to be intoxicated. Additionally, cops reportedly noticed that her speech was slurred, her eyes were watery and that she reeked of alcohol. Lowery-Gales reportedly performed poorly on sobriety exercises.

The Sun has more details on the traffic stop:

She was arrested and given a breath test at the Alachua County Jail. The DUI arrest report states Lowery-Gale registered a blood alcohol level of .166. Florida’s legal standard for DUI is .08.

Reports state that Lowery-Gale told police she was trying to get to Fubar, a nightclub at 225 W. University Ave, when the accident occurred. Records indicate that Lowery-Gale’s license has been suspended five times and that she was cited for failure to submit to an alcohol test in January 2011.

No one was seriously injured during the traffic incident, though more than $1,000 in damages were incurred.
