On Thursday, the Obama re-election campaign announced that First Lady Michelle Obama is spearheading yet another campaign of her own: “It Takes One.” The new campaign speaks directly to her husband’s grassroots-organizing roots and was inspired by a story the First Lady told about how she and President Barack Obama would go on door-to-door visits with friends to collect signatures for Obama’s campaign for state legislature. Complete with images of the couple and Obama addressing Americans in his usual gregarious fashion, the campaign has a goal of narrowing the gap of undecided voters before November.

Michelle Obama, splendid in a red dress, urges viewers to place the onus on themselves in getting their friends, neighbors, and associates registered to vote and to the polls this November:

“That one new voter you register in your precinct. That one neighbor you help get to the polls on November 6th — that could make all the difference. That one conversation you have. That one new volunteer you recruit. That could be the difference between waking up on November 7th and feeling the promise of four more years or asking yourself, ‘Could I have done more?’” – First Lady Michelle Obama

At the end of the video, Mrs. Obama delivers an impassioned quote from the President:

“As Barack has said all along, ‘It takes one voice to change a room. And one room to change a community. And one community to change the direction of our nation.’ It takes one and it starts with you,” the First Lady said.
