Beyonce got more camera time than some of the performers last night at the BET Awards. However, they didn’t catch her reaction to a Lauryn Hill diss.
Lauryn Hill recently pleaded guilty to tax evasion and faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
During the show last night, boy band Mindless Behavior and comedian Mike Epps were presenting the award for Best R&B artist when Mike began to sing. One of the members of Mindless Behavior joked “You sing bad, like Lauryn Hill’s tax accountant bad.”
The comment gained a few laughs and a big gasp from the audience. However, Beyonce won the award and made sure she thanked Lauryn Hill during her acceptance speech. According to TMZ reports, when Beyonce walked offstage she started to vent about the diss to a woman who worked for BET, telling her “I just felt [the diss] was wrong, not cool.”
