It brings us great sadness having to report that Yvette Wilson, comedian and one of the stars of the 1990’s hit show Moesha and The Parkers has died after losing her battle with Cervical Cancer at 48 years old.

Ms. Wilson began her career as a performing stand-up comedian in the early 1990’s before getting a role on the television show Thea, that lead to her getting cast in supporting roles in movies such as House Party 2 and 3, Friday and Poetic Justice.

However, in 1996, she was cast as Andell Wilkerson, a supporting character in her most important role, the TV sitcom Moesha. She later portrayed Nikki Parker’s best friend, played by comedian Mo’Nique on Moesha’s spin-off show The Parkers.

Our sincere condolences go out to her family and friends who are mourning at this time.

Rest in God’s Hands! Yvette Wilson [March 6 – June 14]
