Athletes usually get press for their talent on the gridiron, while their more charitable efforts go unnoticed. Such is not the case with Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards.

Ray Edwards dropped $12 thousand on a fan who won the contest of being his biggest fan. Some of the prize included two seats at the Mayweather/Cotto fight in Las Vegas over the weekend. The contest was for Edwards’ “Dare To Be Different” contest which searched for his biggest fan that truly deserved a vacation.

One of Ray Edwards’ reps fully explained the prize package to TMZ and we might be a tad jealous. Edwards paid for contest winner Chantel Snow and a friend to fly first class to Vegas which cost around $1,200. Snow and her guest stayed at the MGM Grand. Edwards shelled out the $1,100 for that also. Edwards treated the ladies to meals on Friday and Saturday. Later, the winner and her friend enjoyed limo service during their stay in Vegas, a private cabana at the Hard Rock Hotel, and a $2,500 VIP booth at the club.

The grand prize winner got all of that and the runner up had to be mad as hell when they discovered what they won. The runner up had to drive themselves to Las Vegas and all they got was a chance to meet Ray Edwards and watch him train. That’s all kinds of wack for the runner up. That’s why it pays to be a winner.
