Possibly! NFL star turned reality TV star Terrell Owens could be facing jail time for falling behind on child support payments to the mother of his 5-year-old daughter.
According to the AJC, Owens has not paid for August or September, which are due the first of the month. T.O. also didn’t pay the full $5,000 monthly stipend in June and July which he blamed on the NFL lockout, saying he would only be able to pay half the monthly stipend.
Well, his baby mama Melanie Paige Smith, isn’t trying to hear that. She filed a petition for contempt in Fulton County Superior Court in August but withdrew it after Owens paid her the full $5,000, along with attorney fees. Since he hasn’t coughed up the cash, she’s talking and now wants him behind bars.
According to her Melanie’s lawyer, Randy Kessler he never gave her a reason for his refusal to pay. “He texted her and said she could speak to the media, he didn’t care,” said Kessler. “So she has.”
A judge could decide to throw T.O. in jail or force him to pay all back payments, along with Melanie’s attorney fees.
