Kanye’s West artist Big Sean released his highly anticipated album ‘Finally Famous’ this past Tuesday.  The album heavily produced by No I.D. features 16 tracks and features some of the industries heavy hitters including Kanye West, Rick Ross, and Lupe Fiasco. Many people first noticed Big Sean much after he participated in the 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher with his fellow GOOD Music label mates.

In March Big Sean’s released his first single “My Last” (ft. Chris Brown), which did well on the Billboard Hot 100 charts peaking at #34. This hit created much buzz for the artist’s first album. Not to mention we’ve heard Big Sean featured on hits such as Kanye’s “All of the Lights (Remix),” Kelly Rowland’s “Lay It on Me” and Chris Brown’s “Paper ,Scissors, Rock.”

One of the stand out tracks on the album us the track “Marvin & Chardonnay” featuring Kanye West and Roscoe Dash. The beat is crazy and Kanye and Big Sean both go in on their on verses.  I have a feeling Kanye knew this was going to hot track rapping  “This the f-cking anthem, get it, the f-cking anthem.”

Big Sean offers much variety on the album sampling some old school MC Hammer “U Can’t Touch This” on the dance track “Dance A$$,” and he even slows it down a bit on the heartfelt “Memories Part II” that features John Legend.

My personal favorite track is  “What Goes Around” a track with just him.  The hook sung by a mysterious woman is catchy and the lyrics Big Sean gives us are so real. This song addresses the nay-sayers of his career. My favorite lyrics are ” Cause when it turns real, that’s when everybody turns fake/ Instead of sayin’ f-ck all ‘a y’all and turning away/Man, I was cool enough to say “F-ck it” and let ‘em stay/F-ck, I hate to say I told you so/So buying rounds is my way of saying “Told you, ho.”

After listening to “Finally Famous” I must say I think its one of the best hip-hop albums in 2011. With Big Sean’s unique flow and abundance of hot features, I definitely think this album will be bumping for many throughout the summer. I rate Big Sean’s “Finally Famous” a 4.5 out of 5. If you don’t have the album and you want be sure to check out the iPower Big Sean “Say What Contest ”
