Nick Cannon and Chelsea Handler got into a Twitter scuffle a while back and now Nick is saying it stemmed from Chelsea cracking jokes on his wife, Mariah Carey.
Everyone thought the drama popped off when Chelsea made fun of Nick last October by tweeting, “I just heard Nick Cannon is starting a comedy tour. Who’s going to do the comedy?”
Nick Swiftly followed that up with a number of scathing tweets directed at Handler, labeling her as “angry ugly whitetrash.” But Cannon tells John Katsilometes in a recent interview it was deeper than Chelsea’s one jab.
“For a while … she was constantly on her show, kind of picking on me and my wife,” says Nick.“You can say what you want about me, but when you start talking about my wife, I get a little sensitive. Hey that’s my family, you know? The protective lion comes out. I said some things that I don’t really regret, but that were a little harsh, and we went back-and-forth.”
The two later resolved their issues.
