@iPower921: Tell us a little about yourself!

@IAmMsProper: I am a female Hip Hop artist by the name of Ms Proper representing both Fayetteville, North Carolina and Richmond, Virginia. I began to seriously pursue music in 2007. I have opened for acts such as Big Krit, Jae Millz, and Cyhi The Prynce. Recently (July 13th) I was featured on BET’s 106 and Park for Wild Out Wednesday.

@iPower921: When was the first time you remember rapping?

@IAmMsProper: The first time I wrote my first rap I was really young, about 8 years old, I don’t remember the exact topic but I remember it was VERY corny. Haha. But at that point in time I thought it was the greatest verse in the world.

@iPower921: What artist influence you?

@IAmMsProper: Growing up I listened to a lot of Eminem and Jay Z. I also listened to artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Consequence, TI, and Missy Elliot. TI greatly influenced by stage performance from the first time I saw him live. He had so much energy and I remember thinking “that’s what I want to bring to the stage”

@iPower921: What’s your favorite song you’ve ever written? Why?

@IAmMsProper: My favorite song always varies depending on my mood. Currently I would have to say “Self Conscious” featuring Angie B off of my latest mixtape #NoDaysOff is my favorite because it is a very emotionally raw record.

@iPower921: What was your first live show/performance like?

@IAmMsProper: My first performance I remember I wasn’t even nervous, just excited. I was the first act of the show and when the music dropped I completely transformed. The adrenaline from being on stage was amazing and I was instantly addicted.

@iPower921: What was your 106 & Park performance like?

@IAmMsProper: I was blessed with the opportunity to perform on BET’s Wild Out Wednesday July 13th. The entire thing was surreal to me. Being in the BET studios and actually seeing myself on televison was an incredible feeling. Although we didn’t walk away with teh technical “win” I don’t feel like I lost at all. The nation was able to see my  talent and also recognize the talent that is here in Richmond. I went with the mindset of wanting to make an impact and that’s exactly what I did.

@iPower921: How did you come up with your name?

@IAmMsProper: I was going through a point where I was really looking for a name to define me. I didn’t want anything to cliche but I wanted it to fit me as well. Ms Proper came to me during a car ride on afternoon and I felt it represented me not only lyrically, but personally as well.

@IAmMsProper: On a major scale, Eminem hands down. As far as Virginia artists are concerned I wouldn’t mind working with 757 artist Intalek and Richmond artist Black Liquid.

@paperchasers804: We are a inter-racial rap/ hip-hop group from Richmond Virgina, with a huge buzz. We perform at various clubs and venues. Paper Chasers have won a lot of contest. We as a group are very versatile when it comes to music. Paper Chasers not only create hip-hop music we also master club bangers, R&B, pop, trap music, and rock-rap. Our ages range from 20 to 23. @iPower921: What’s your favorite song you’ve ever written? Why?

@paperchasers804: Boomerang. The reason it’s our favorite song is because its something different and its a new type of club song that no one has heard before.

@iPower921: What was your first live show/performance like?

@paperchasers804: Our first performance was at Skateland off of Hull Street . The crowd was very into us and was showing a lot support for us being a local group and it being our first performance.

@iPower921: How did you come up with the name?

@paperchasers804: The name came from when we first started together. We were all in the studio , thinking of a name for the group and we thought ‘ well what do we all have in common ? ‘ and we all chase paper so we decided to go with Paper Chasers.

@iPower921: How many mix-tapes have you done up to date; what are the names?

@paperchasers804: We currently have 3 mix-tapes and are working on a fourth.

@iPower921: How did the group come together?

@paperchasers804: In 2004, Two twin brothers Deane & Devin Walden, had a vision for music. Through this vision, they were inspired to form an elite group of style, finesse, and sound all their own. As time progressed, many members were added. First with the meeting of Sterling Ogletree (Tsunami Black) in early High School. After they started to work on music together, the movement began and the power behind it grew as well. A few momentum builds later and the group added another member, Vance Rhett (Case-Closed). Case-Closed brought a sort of old school Hip-Hop feel to the group. After that, John Evans (Face) was the final member to join the group. He brings a dirty south role to the group. Since then its just been hit after hit after hit. As the group moves forward six years strong, P.C. now consists of Venom, Tsunami Black, Kasanova, Case-Closed, & 2-Face.

@iPower921: Which current artist would you like to collaborate with?

@paperchasers804: Hands down Lil Wayne or Drake.

@WrighteousLife: I’m Khalil Lemons but I go by the alias of Wilson Wright I’ve enjoyed music all my life, I was born off Tupac, DMX, NWA, & Biggie & a couple more artist. I’ve been basically rapping all my life but didn’t take it serious until 2008 & sense then I have been putting all my effort towards music & next year I will be a senior so I plan to head to an art school so that I can take more time with my talent. I’m not fan of much new music but I love the classics. I would say my genre is Hip Hop.(Soul, Smooth, & some new school)

@iPower921: When was the first time you remember rapping?

@WrighteousLife: I remember me, my friends & my brother use to rap on my old computer in Hampton all the time we weren’t really that good but we were enjoying ourselves

@iPower921:What artist influence you?

@WrighteousLife: Chip Tha Ripper,Tupac,Redman,Methodman, Kid Cudi, Talib Kweli, Styles P, & Ransom

@iPower921:What’s your favorite song you’ve ever written? Why?

@WrighteousLife: Eastside it’s a song on Stoned Age Rap I wrote, it was my favorite because when I wrote it I wanted to get a old vibe to it I & I got it just how I wanted it. It felt like the most like me too.

@iPower921: What was your first live show/performance like?

@WrighteousLife: My first performance was okay, but I really wasn’t feeling it at first. It was for a friend of mine at his birthday party. I think I did a pretty good job though, got some good feedback.

@iPower921: Any mixtapes out?

@WrighteousLife: I released a mixtape not to long ago, about a month ago.  (Which is above this) & a few recent freestyles which can be heard on my tumblr playlist. The hotnewhiphop is old but it’s good music though probaly wanted in the industry

@iPower921: Tell us a little about yourself!

@JTrill: My real name is Joshua Jordan,I’m 22 years old.  I was born in a Tifton,Ga  which is a small town 3 hours south of Atlanta.  Back in high school I wrote and recorded a song called “Devil Walk” for my school’s football team.  The song received so much local support that it helped establish my name regionally as a powerful new urban music artist & songwriter. Building on the momentum from “Devil Walk”, I was asked to be a part of the remix to the Heizman Boyz song “Do the Heisman” which also featured hip-hop artist Fabo.  I then went on to write “So Bright” which was featured on MTV’s “Taking the Stage”.  And since then, I have been building my fan-base and working towards the “So Bright” video and my first studio album.

@iPower921: When was the first time you remember rapping?

@JTrill: I was riding around in the car with my cousins headed to a party and they ask me to freestyle out of the blue – so I gave it a shot.  That was a special moment in my career because I came up with the name J.Trill – while I was doing my first-ever freestyle.

@iPower921:What artist influence you?

@JTrill: Watching  T.I. grow from being a unknown rap artists into being international music icons It was T.I.’s rise to fame perhaps that was most instrumental in making me want to pursue my music career.

@iPower921:What’s your favorite song you’ve ever written? Why?

@JTrill: So Bright is my favorite song.  Why?  ”So Bright”  is a song I wrote from the heart (in 10 min) – and for to be featured on MTV Popular Show “Taking the Stage” really meant alot to me.  More importantly though, “So Bright” touches my fans and other people that hear it.  I think so “So Bright” is the song that is setting me apart from other artists – and winning me fans more than any other.

@iPower921: What was your first live show/performance like?

@JTrill: My first live performance was huge! It was like 1600 fans there.  It was in my home town shopping mall parking lot and I will never forget that!  My first time ever on stage and seeing 1600 fans there – singing the words to my song gave me the adrenaline rush of my life.

@iPower921: Any releases out?

@JTrill: My first single “So Bright” is out now on iTunes and also other online stores.  It was produced by Virginia producer H.U.M.P. who recently produced a song for hip-hop legend Kool G Rap on his latest album “Riches, Royalty & Respect”.  H.U.M.P. and I are working night & day right now to create new hits for my upcoming album which is tentatively set for release on October 4.  There is a follow up single to “So Bright” called “Blue Skies” that will be released before the album drops (probably later this month or early next).
