Yesterday the Senate approved a bill that requires women in Virginia to view an ultrasound before they can proceed with an abortion.  The vote passed 21- 19.

The supporters of the bill said that this measure will simply improve the consent procedures of the patient undergoing the abortion. However, the opposers of the bill state that this measure is medically unnecessary. It also puts the government in between the doctor and patient relationship/ privacy.

Both sides agreed to make an amendment  that allows victims of rape or incest not to have to view the ultrasound.

Do you think having women view their ultrasound  is a good idea? Or by making women to view their ultrasound before an abortion, a violation of women rights?
