Protests Break Out In Charlotte After Police Shooting

Current reports show that Justin Carr passed early evening on Thursday. Prayers are with his family.

A state of emergency was declared last night in Charlotte as protests continued over the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott on Tuesday.

Police Chief Kerr Putney said in during a press conference that nearly 30 officers have been injured during the 2-day protests and 45 people have been arrested. One civilian was shot late Wednesday. Police have identified the victim as Justin Carr. He remains in critical condition. Authorities initially stressed that the victim was not shot by police officers, though police chief Kerr Putney indicated today that they are investigating reports that an officer could have been involved.
