According to USA TODAY, Oprah just snapped up a 10% stake in Weight Watchers for a whopping $43.2 million.
The deal also includes options “to acquire an additional 5% of the fully diluted shares.”
Just the word that Winfrey took a 10% stake in the company caused the stock to more than double to $13.92 a share.
Winfrey made $70 million in one day off the Weight Watchers deal. However, that’s nothing for Winfrey, who is worth an estimated $3.1 billion, according to Forbes.
