GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a rally at the Richmond International Raceway this Wednesday, October 14th at 7 p.m. This is a free event but you must register at eventbrite. The Trump rally will be held at the Main Exhibition Hall located at 600 East Laburnum Avenue. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m.
Will Virginia become a battleground state during the presidential race next year? For now the polls are stirring slowly. A new poll says Hillary Clinton is no longer the clear-cut frontrunner in Virginia. The latest Christopher Newport University survey also reports that Donald Trump is still the top pick for Republican voters in the Commonwealth. In April, Clinton was getting 80-percent of the vote, but she is polling at 40-percent.
There were over one-thousand voters surveyed from September 29th to October 8th. Trump has 23-percent support, followed by Ben Carson with 17-percent and Senator Marco Rubio with 14-percent in the latest Christopher Newport University poll. Meanwhile, Senator Bernie Sanders and Vice President Joe Biden each have 23-percent.
The presidential primary is March 1, 2016 and the general election is Tuesday, November 8, 2016
