The entire East Coast is watching Hurricane Joaquin. The storm is building speed and getting stronger as it heads toward the East Coast. It is currently a Category 3 hurricane with winds up to 115 mph as of 11 p.m. Wednesday.

In advance of the storm getting to VA, Governor McAuliffe declared a state of emergency. Local officials are working to ensure the safety and least amount of impact for residents of VA.

The storm is expected to have the greatest impact during the weekend, with rain totals nearing 4-6 inches.
