After some back and forth legal wrangling behind the scenes, a judge has ordered Bobby Brown and Pat Houston to share responsibility on decisions related to Bobbi Kristina Brown’s care and medical needs. The news comes after Brown filed for sole guardianship in late April, and the ruling runs somewhat counter to previously published reports and statements from Brown that Bobbi Kristina’s condition was improving. At joint statement from Bobby Brown and Pat Houston—who is Bobbi Kristina Brown’s maternal grandmother—was released Friday and read as follows:

“We are delighted to inform the public that the Court has appointed Bobby Brown and Pat Houston as Co-Guardians of Bobbi Kristina Brown (“Krissi”). Both Mr. Brown and Ms. Houston are jointly responsible for decisions related to Krissi’s care and medical needs.”

Bobbi Kristina is the only child of the late Whitney Houston. Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unresponsive in late January in a bathtub in her Georgia home. She was rushed to the hospital and placed in a medically induced coma.

In March, Bobbi Kristina Brown was moved from Emory University Hospital in Georgia to a rehabilitation center at an undisclosed location. NBC News cited an anonymous source stating Brown’s condition has remained the same.
