Earlier this week Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke lost their copyright infringement case against the Estate of Marvin Gaye for Marvin Gaye’s 1977 hit Got to Give It Up.

Now Pharrell may be headed back to court over  similarities between his smash hit single Happy and Marvin Gaye’s Ain’t That Peculiar…?

Yesterday on Entertainment Tonight, Marvin Gaye’s family admitted that Happy and Ain’t That Peculiar sound VERY much alike to them.
Marvin Gaye’s daughter Nona Gaye tells ET’s Nischell Turner,

“I’m not going to lie. I do think they sound alike.”

While Gaye’s ex-wife Janis was a little more blunt”

“I heard the mash-ups — but I didn’t really need to hear them. I know ‘Ain’t That Peculiar’ and I’ve heard ‘Happy.'”

Asked if they were headed back to court and Janis replied,

“We’re just in the moment today and we’re satisfied.”
