After the Minnesota Vikings suffered a huge loss on Sunday, team officials announced that Peterson would be reinstated for this Sunday’s upcoming game despite the arrest and child abuse chargers he incurred after brutally beating his 4-year-old son with a switch (tree branch). Naturally, this had folks in an uproar.
Money definitely talks. After Radisson hotel, one of the teams biggest sponsors, immediately pulled out, and Anheuser-Busch expressed their concerns, the NFL reversed their decision and Peterson was placed on the exempt/commissioner’s permission list — meaning he is suspended indefinitely from all team activities.
Supporters of Peterson should not feel too bad for him at this time as he is on a paid leave until his legal situation is sorted out. That means he will still make almost $700,000 a week and get paid over $11 million this season.
