Earlier this week satire, or fake, news website nipsysnews.com posted a story with the title “KU KLUX KLAN RALLY IN DETROIT WEDNESDAY JULY 9TH, 2014” after a few shares on Facebook, the internet was immediately on fire.

Many Detroiters took to twitter, Facebook and Instagram to share their feelings and ultimately put a stop to this so called rally.

The post stated the following:

The American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan is planning to form a “peaceful protest” towards the African American Museum on East Warren ave demanding that white history should be displayed in black museums in cities that are predominately african american.

However within a minute or two the screen then reloads to a page that states the following:

WE ARE SORRY, BUT YOU WERE TRICKED! IT WAS JUST A JOKE!!!

This site goes on to say:

Don’t worry, you are not the only one. 8534 people already fell for this. If you liked the joke, you can share it and trick your friends. Also you can create a joke of your own clicking the button below!

Outside of the issue of why someone would give this story truth, is why would someone think this is funny. To consider this a “joke” is disgusting.

Just incase there was any truth to the matter, Detroit rapper Trick Trick took to Instagram after scoping out the scene to ensure nothing was going to take place. See his video here.
