DJ Khaled called into the TT Torrez Show to g-chat with TT about his recent dramatic weight loss his new album, they don’t love you no more, and his loyalty to Rick Ross

Check out the interview

On his new single:

“The single’s called, they don’t love me no more. Its featuring jay-z, Hova ,Shawn Carter, you might know him…. Also featuring my brova (brother) Ricky Ro-Za (Rick Ross), Meek Millie (Meek Mills) and Montana. When I got in the studio with everybody, I made it clear that the concept and the name of the record is they don’t love you no more and that’s how I’m feeling. The great thing is we all feel that way…. Everyone can relate to this single. This is a powerful anthem that is taking over.”

On Rick Ross and Dj Khaled relationship:

“Loyalty is rare and priceless. Me and Ross relationship, we are bother from day one as well as we make music together and we also do business together from day one. Meaning we help each other out, we support each other, we support our project; his projects or my projects. We really care about it and not just music that’s my brother. We came up together and we hustled together….We come from where the door was closed, we had to break the door down. To be where we at now and growing, were so grateful….For me being able to take care of my mother and father, that’s so important to me. That’s what’s its about, being a man. Taking care of your team and you family.”

On what it was like being in the place where jay-z grew up:

“Before the record went out, I made it my project to go to marcy projects. I wanted to touch the people….I want to know what type of water this man was drinking. I wanted to see the trees growing in front of his project building. I wanted to see the texture from the dirt from the side walk. I wanted to see the elevator he used everyday. I wanted to see his door step he was walking into. This was the projects and this was so aspiring. He was of the biggest mobile in the game and he came from the bottom. Just to make it life and survive is one thing but to make it an entrepreneur, music mobile, and someone like a Jay-Z is inspiring. So I wanted to go talk to the kids in the hood and tell them look this where J came up and you live here now. Man you should be aspired because that could be you… So I not only wanted to make a record with him but I wanted to show my appreciation and touch the culture. “

On coming out the hood:

“I’m a normal human being just like everyone else. I want to go to the corner store to get my favorite fruit punch. I never want to feel trap where I cant go no where in my city or any city. I want to be able to embrace that and I think people appreciate that. I come across with nothing but love. I’m come with respect and the rules of the game is that you have to respect each other and if you don’t you will have a problem. That’s how I make my music, my ears are in the street and I got to feel it….I’m the same ole DJ Khaled. I remain real but I changed a lot. “

On the weight loss decision:

“It was over the holidays and I said to myself, Im not going to lie Im a fat ass. I eat and I be in the studio not thinking about my weight. I wanted to challenge myself and show all the none believes plus myself that I’m going to loss weight. I was at 300 pounds and I weighed myself 3 days ago, I’m at 234 now. Me losing weight and dieting has lead to me making better decision and better music. I want to let the kids and everybody out there, that you life will change if you challenge yourself to be healthy. You can have nothing and you will be happy with a smile.”
