Hip Hop couple Jay-z and Beyonce looked like royalty earlier today as they arrived at the Presidential Inauguration in Washington DC. Jay-z looked dapper in a Tom Ford Peak Lapel suit as he escorted Beyonce, dressed in Emilio Pucci, into the Capitol.
When it was time for Bey to sing, she looked super nervous as she stepped up on the platform, however, that lasted for only a quick moment. She put on her game face in just 2 seconds flat and belted out the National Anthem like a pro.
In an interview with Zap it this weekend, she revealed:
Every time I am overworked and in a stressful situation, I always think about moments like this, and it makes everything worth while. My father grew up in Alabama and my father was escorted to school with security guards. He was one of the few African-Americans in school.
There is so much history that we have overcome. And we are growing so much. It is so beautiful that I can make my family and my family’s legacy proud and it is a huge opportunity, for me. I know [the song] but it is the type of thing, [it] doesn’t matter how many times you sing it… And the biggest fear is making sure you sing it right, and sing it correctly.
