The producers and a few cast members of Basketball Wives can breathe easier. Jennifer Williams has dropped her lawsuit against Nia Crooks. Crooks famously slapped Williams in the face in an episode of the hit VH1 reality show.

Jennifer filed the lawsuit against Nia back in January, claiming she sustained serious physical injuries and psychological damage because of the incident. Jennifer had concrete evidence of the attack because it was filmed and aired by VH1 camera crews. Jennifer Williams had a change of heart earlier in the month, deciding to abort legal action against the parties involved. There was no settlement. Jennifer just decided to leave well enough alone.

A rep for Jennifer Williams released a statement saying, “[Jennifer Williams] is already dealing with her difficult divorce and did not feel that it was necessary to continue to pursue civil action.”

Nia Crooks’ attorney Javier Solano responded to the lawsuit being dropped with, “We have always maintained that the frivolous lawsuit brought by Jennifer Williams was nothing short of a last-gasp attempt to maintain her dwindling relevance on the ‘Basketball Wives.’”

“Nia is happy to put this issue behind her and start looking ahead to work on her own career,” Solano finished.

A sudden change of heart? It sounds like Jennifer Williams was told to drop the lawsuit and she could get her spot on the show back and she took that deal. If she shows up on the next season, we all know why and how.
