The Virginia Commonwealth University Rams won the “Best Upset” ESPY Award last night in Los Angeles.

VCU was awarded because of their win over Kansas in the Southwest Regional final in the NCAA tournament. This was the first time VCU had ever advanced to the Final Four in the tournament, making history for the university and the city of Richmond.

Head Coach Shaka Smart and the starting 5 players (Bradford Burgess, Ed Nixon, Joey Rodriguez, Bradon Rozzell, Jamie Skeen) accepted the award. They will bring the honor back to Richmond for all the players, VCU students and members of the Richmond community to enjoy.
