A couple of days ago Michael Vick canceled on Oprah the night before the taping of the interview and now Oprah is speaking out about it. Michael Vick canceled due to the Eagles requesting he not do the interview.
A spokesperson for the “Oprah” show stated that Vick actually made the call late Tuesday night after he received the franchise tag ($16-20 million for the 2012 season). He said he had to cancel for personal reasons.
Oprah was disappointed that Vick canceled so sudden because she and her producers worked for months to get him on the show.
“He said personal reasons. We’re not going to push it,” Winfrey said. “We did a field trip with him. We had been shooting with Michael Vick. And the fact that he pulled out and all his people…” Winfrey added. “We move on.”
Vick really didn’t have a choice in this situation. If his employer says don’t go on Oprah (and they paying you $16-$20 million) then you just don’t go.
