Self-proclaimed relationship expert, entrepreneur, author and reality star Tionna Smalls (of the hit reality TV series “What Chilli Wants”) has a brand new book coming to the shelves meant to lead women in the right direction when it comes to dating and relationships these days. Available in stores this week (Friday, January 27th), the new book “Men Love Abuse” is a sequel to the antics she presented in her first relationship book “Girl, Get Your Mind Right” a self-help situational style offering that even her TV co-star Chilli couldn’t get enough of. She obviously didn’t find the man of her dreams, but Tionna still has quite a bit to say about the men females encounter, how to keep them and what they seem to love along the way.

Now when you read the title, like most of us, you might be thinking about the literal sense of it. It’s not about physical abuse according Tionna, but instead it’s a metaphor that exposes what men actually appreciate about a go-getter, head strong woman. Do good girls finish last? Let Tionna tell it like it really is.

On the book title and it’s intended impact:

“It’s a metaphor for not taking no mess. They like the girl that don’t pay them no mind. They like the girl that don’t really care about them a lot. They like the girl that has her own life.  That’s what the “abuse” is. I’m not saying smack a dude in the face or punch him out because then you’re going to get beat up. (laughs) You cannot play with men, they are something else.”

On the rules of relationships:

Before you even get in a relationship, the law needs to be set. In the beginning, you make them go hard. You can soften up but you can’t soften up too much. After awhile, the man gets bored and he figures you out already. Men get bored rather quickly and if they figure you out, they’re onto the next chick.

On marriage:

“I always say ‘be a b**** and you get hitched,’ you know? (laughs) Except I use the real word. The main thing is to always work as if you’re dating that person and you have other people that you’re interested in. I said it in my first book “Girl Get Your Mind Right,” you’re never supposed to lose yourself.

On dating multiple men:

You date three men. That doesn’t mean that you’re having sex with all three, but you need to date three men, see how you like it and watch which one makes it to the finish line. The finish line is the person who may propose to you or may really want to marry you. You don’t have to sit there and wait for the relationship with one guy.

On keeping the man at bay:

No title, no chicken. If he isn’t your man, there’s no reason for you to be siting there cooking for him everyday. When you meet a guy, no leaving voicemails. Leaving voicemails is too personal. (laughs) If you want to know what I wanted when I called, you need to call be back. It’s time for is to suck with a purpose. (laughs) Stop getting so hype when you meet one good dude.

Read more..]]> The buzz around the cast of VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop” just keeps on building as we get closer and closer to the season finale this month. Just when you thought you knew the “Love & Hip Hop” players inside and out, the self-proclaimed actress, model and singer Erica Mena finally steps to the plate in an emotional interview about her past, her abusive relationship with Fat Joe’s best friend Raoul and the son they have together plus a side of her that the world hasn’t really seen yet.

And so the drama on and off of our TV screens continues. This one got a bit juicy as TT Torrez digs in on Erica Mena regarding her bogus career claims on the show. Check it out for yourself to find out her response to what being a role model really is and where she stands on the rest of the “Love & Hip Hop” cast members.

On her downfall on the show:

Unfortunately, this season I didn’t have much of a storyline where I got to actually let the viewers know more about myself. What you guys see is just me meeting with Yandy and then after that these conflicts that I keep having with Kimbella. It is an unfortunate situation. It makes good television, but that’s not who I am. There are more dynamics to me and that was the whole reason for me being on the show – what I’m about, how I’ve made everything happen for me, but I will say it did backfire on me.

On the comparisons to Kimbella’s modeling career:

One thing I do is make sure it’s all tasteful. It’s more about the tastefulness and how you deliver it.

On the infamous VIBE interview and remarks against Kimbella:

I could’ve taken the high road instead of mentioning anything about her (Kimbella) in the VIBE interview. By the time I got to VIBE, this whole Twitter thing was all over the Internet. This was a little beef that she started, so it was only right I guess that they had asked me. What I do regret is basically answering the question about her because I could’ve just brushed her under the rug, but I think I was just so upset at the fact that I did apologize and tried to move on and then she basically started a whole new riff.

On her relationship with Fat Joe’s best friend Raoul, the father of her son & the video that exposed the demise of the relationship:

What you see with us is just me basically finally defending myself. It was a really a bad time. I was parting ways with that relationship and I thought I had moved on, but before you know it I was being attacked as if I was still in the relationship. It was seven years of it. It’s been a long journey for me.

Detroit R&B singer and new guest cast member of VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop” Teairra Mari is dead set on finding her rightful place in the game. She recently was asked to be released from her association with Warner Bros., found her musical soulmate in producer Rico Love and now is trying to keep the spotlight on her new single “You Did That” featuring 2 Chainz.

Find out how she keeps far away from the drama on the show and if this new collaboration with Rico Love might finally do the trick for her career below.

On being released from the Warner Brothers label:

Yes, that situation is done and that was because of me. I asked to be released from that situation because I just didn’t feel like they got it. Like I said, I wasn’t confident in the music I was doing. And I was just like you know what? I want to be released. Rico (Love) was like “do you want to come over here?” Yes, absolutely because I know what kind of the magic we were going to make together.

On getting caught up in the drama with the cast on the VH1 “Love & Hip Hop” series:

I’m not supposed to, it’s not my drama. But umm, you know, I do want everyone to get along because I’m not going to lie meeting the other girls…I actually like Kimbella. I love Emily to death and I know Emily’s not really about the drama either. I tried to make that meeting go down, but it was just all this other stuff poppin’ up in the midst of me trying to bring them together. Then this new chick comes in and she starts poppin’ off and then it’s just a whole other explosive scene of drama.

On whether or not Emily is doing the right thing by giving Fabolous a second chance:

Emily texted me when it aired like “I’m crying again.” (laughs) Yeah, I think she is. I mean, she says she’s taking her time and she’s still in her own place. I think she is. She’s a smart woman and she’s been dealing with this situation for a very long time, but I just want to make sure she’s following her heart and using her brain. Been there with her so I’m just like “Ok girl. (laughs) Let’s not do it again like that.” I know that he’s a good guy and I know that he’s going to make that effort.

On dating in the entertainment industry:

It takes a special type of woman. That’s why I can’t deal with an industry man. I don’t want a rapper or anybody that’s in the limelight.

On the beef and blowout between Yandy & Krissy:

Their situation runs very deep and I try to stay as far out of is as I can. They have years of history and it’s just sad to see that this is what it’s come to.

On Erica & Kimbella’s fight:

Just what you saw was just what it was. That girl just came in, sat down and just started immediately poppin’ off! All I know is a glass flew and I didn’t see what happened after that. (laughs) A glass flew and I jumped up.

VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop” has spawned quite a bit of controversy this season with it’s runaway star Mama Jones taking the spotlight with her homegrown antics and wisecracks we just can’t get enough of. This week, she checked in with TT Torrez to give the scoop on what’s happening behind the scenes concerning her Twitter beef with cast member Yandy. Think things were heated on the show? You guessed right! Mama Jones also breaks down where she stands on her son Jim Jones’ proposal and whether or not she’ll assist in planning for the wedding.

On Jimmy’s proposal and planning both Chrissy & Jimmy’s wedding:

If it gets to that point, yes. I mean, right now, I can’t just say…”Oh yeah.” When we reach that bridge, I’ll cross over it. I’ll give my kids 100-percent.

On telling Yandy to ‘stay in her place’ on the show:

I meant what I said when she was supposed to actually stay in her place. When she came on the show, she was supposed to be shown as ‘the manager’ so it should’ve been where they were showing you doing what she was supposed to do for him and what goes on with y’all as y’all work. But then you’re doing a bit too much, you’re involved with this person and that person…I don’t like that. You don’t need nobody extra or anything around y’all.

On the fighting on the show and how Kimbella, Erica  & Yandy look like clowns:

I’ve never known Yandy to be with different females and stuff, indulging the way she does. Come on now, first of all, everybody on there lookin’ like clowns and wants to fight. Poor Kimbella who is supposed to be good friends with Yandy, her pud is always gettin’ her *effed up. And every time you turn around Yandy is always there. Yo, she can’t be my friend. Then here comes another new girl, Erica. I cannot be part of that circus. It’s too much going on and everybody really don’t know each other like that.

Actress KeKe Palmer is one of young Black Hollywood’s rising stars and we’re excited to catch up with her just hours before the premiere of her latest film role in “Joyful Noise.” Coming to theaters this Friday, January 13th with private screenings happening in select cities, this new movie co-stars Queen Latifah, Courtney B. Vance and Dolly Parton just to name a few.

Wondering what it’s all about? Although she’s a fairly new face in Black entertainment, actress Erica Hubbard is one of those adorable faces you just can’t forget. She’s one of the new co-stars to take the spotlight in BET’s new original scripted series “Let’s Stay Together” (now in it’s second season airing Tuesday, January 10th at 11PM EST) and she’s ready to show us what she’s got. Listen as TT Torrez gets Hubbard on the phone for a live moment of “Girl Talk” on the air.

For Jennifer Williams, star of VH1′s hit reality series “Basketball Wives.” there’s plenty more than what meets the eye and this week, iPower 92.1 FM’s own TT Torrez uncovered the real deal on what to expect next from Jenn & the girls. Having stepped out of the shadow of her ex-husband Eric Williams and now onto bigger and better things with the new season, it seems like she’s finally making moves of her own.

But just when you think life is all sandy beaches, Gucci handbags and limousine rides, the drama continues just in time for the cameras to start rolling. Now in it’s fourth consecutive season created and produced by Shani O’Neal (ex-wife of Shaquille O’Neal), “Basketball Wives” is stil the leading show on the air and it seems like every one of our favorite girls are back for more fights, more feuds & more fun.

Listen below as Jennifer Williams gives away a few secrets on the brand new cast members you’ll be seeing next year plus hear it straight as she tells the truth about Twitter scandals, that rumored altercation with her estranged on again/off again friend Evelyn and more. Jennifer even gives us the update on the status of her current relationships with Royce Reed, Shani and of course, Meca, too.

On spending the holidays without ex-husband Eric Williams & getting back to dating:

  • Actually last year, I was alone, too, because we weren’t like technically separated, but we kind of were. I am dating, not one specific person though…I’m not trying to rush into anything.

On the rumors of a rocky friendship with Evelyn & Twitter scandals:

  • If you follow me on Twitter, I don’t do subliminal tweets. I don’t throw jabs at my friends. If you have my phone number, just text me or whatever. She threw a couple of jabs at me on Twitter…I don’t have a problem with her. She has one with me. I definitely think there’s a bigger issue, but you guys will have to tune into Season IV to figure it out.

On whether or not Evelyn actually hit Jennifer with a handbag this season:

  • You know what… (Laughs) I don’t think I can confirm or deny, but I just want to say this. I think anybody that has tuned into Season I through III knows that I’m definitely not a fighter, that’s not even in my character whatsoever. You definitely won’t find me fighting in Philippe Chow and I’m just going to leave it at that.

INSIDE SCOOP: TT’s got the back story. Shani’s birthday party at Philippe Chow turned ugly pretty quickly when Jennifer & Evelyn reportedly got into an argument.   • I haven’t seen Royce since I’ve been filming. I don’t even have an issue with Royce. I just felt like we connected on a different level with the whole makeover for her. I’m not trying to knock anybody’s hustle, but you know what I went through with this guy (Eric Williams) and if he’s reaching out to you, just at least have the common courtesy to let me know like Suzi did…I’m kind of over it, but I just felt like it was a little immature for her to do that.

On the new cast members Kenya Bell & Keisha Nichols plus if Meca was invited back into the fold:

  • I’ve filmed with them a couple of times. They seem cool, but you never know. I don’t really know specifics on why Meca wasn’t invited back to the show, but I think production was just not really feeling her.

INSIDE SCOOP: Kenya Bell is the ex-wife of Golden State Warrior Charlie Bell. The second new cast member is Kesha Ni’cole Nichols. She was dumped in 2009 by her ex-fiance, San Antonio Spur Richard Jefferson, via e-mail the night before the wedding. Scandalous!

After pleading guilty to smuggling drugs into prison just hours ago, there’s a lot to be said and confirmed about the chain of events that led up to the Hip Hop star’s legal woes.

Check out Ms. Connie’s perspective as she reveals what is said to be a personal vendetta against Lil Boosie and the way she’s even experienced harassment from Louisiana officers just trying to get their break, too. Ms. Connie opens up about how the IRS wiped out the family’s support system and even tells TT Torrez who actually helped and who didn’t when it came to the infamous “Free Boosie” concerts.

On the latest updates from Lil Boosie behind bars:

Torrance is doing fine. He’s at Angola here in Louisiana. Right now he’s in CCR. He is on lockdown 24 hours, but he comes out for at least an hour everyday. There’s so much incorrect information that has been placed on the Internet.

On the myths and rumors:

They don’t have the facts. It was stated in one article that Torrance was charged with nine murders. That’s not true. What he has been charged for is just one murder and they’re calling it a conspiracy. A 16-year-old has been charged with six murders and he lied on Torrance stating that Torrance gave him $1,200 despite what the D.A. says.

On whether or not Lil Boosie has really been linked to the murders as a shooter:

No, there’s no truth to that either.

On the misinterpretation of Lil Boosie’s lyrics:

In one of his songs, Torrance was saying something about “The D.A. might be dead by the time he gets home...” They took that as a threat, they took it the negative way, but the reason he was even talking about it is because there were rumors going around this little small city that our D.A. was sick. Read more..]]> Known for her romantic relationship with Hip Hop star Fabolous and the children they brought into this world, Emily B recently took a giant step forward for herself by continuing to be apart of the hit reality TV show “Love & Hip Hop.” Season I proved that their relationship wasn’t normal and that it was actually beginning to take a toll on the reality star.

On the second season, which premiered this week, Emily B returned with a new outlook on it all now that she’s officially split from Fabolous. We’re proud of Emily B for taking control of the situation, but we can’t help wondering how Fabolous feels about his ex in the aftermath of their tumultuous courtship. Check out a recent conversation with TT Torrez and Emily B as they discuss each of these hot topics and more from the show.

On what made her come back for another season:

I wanted to show growth. I didn’t like how it ended, but this time around, I’m a little more aware of being on a reality show and I know how it goes. I’m not a rookie anymore. I came in knowing whatI wanted to get out of it. At the end of the day, it’s business that’s all.

On living on her own for the first time:

I got pregnant at 16 and moved in with him when I was 16-years-old. I was little girl. I met Fab a few months after that relationship ended. So I had never been on my own as an adult. This is the first time in my life where I’m living on my own and I have to say it feels good, it feels great. I put the key to my door everyday and I feel great about it. It’s the best decision I’ve made.

On letting go and loving yourself more:

Love doesn’t go away. I tried to fight my feelings for a long time. Sometimes you have to love you more and that’s what I did. Everything has changed and everything has been for the better since then.

On whether or not Fabolous and Emily B are still having sex:

No. You’ll see a guest appearance or two, but you’ve got to watch the show.

On telling her daughter about the break-up with Fabolous:

That was the hardest part. I never wanted her to be affected by my relationships. I wanted to let him (Fabolous) know she still loves him. It only made their relationship stronger because he goes the extra mile now for the kids.

The runaway star of VH1′s reality show “Love & Hip Hop,” Mama Jones is keeping it all the way hood – just how we like it. This season, she’s making moves as a performer with her super catchy diss tune “Psychotic,” a major dig against her son Jim Jones and his girl Chrissy Lampkin. Did she take it too far? Was Mama Jones out of order? Listen to TT Torrez talking live on the air with Mama Jones candidly about all the drama.

Mama Jones opens up about the disgruntled vibes she put off concerning her son, what she’s doing now behind the scenes as the season continues and even introduces the new single before it’s played for the first time on the air.

On what inspired her decision to work on “Psychotic” and premiere it on the show:

Basically because I was mad at my son and Chrissy.

On whether or not she’s spoken to her son about how he feels and managed to work things out:

Oh, he wasn’t feelin’ it…he and everybody who saw it looked like they were smelling doo-doo, horse doo-doo, elephant doo-doo or smellin’ sh**… (laughs)

On if she cared about Chrissy and Jim’s feelings when she recorded it:

No, I was doin’ me because at the time they were doin’ them. They didn’t care how I felt.

On the advice Mama Jones gives to other mothers who don’t like their child’s lover:

We call ourselves fighting against our child and who they love, but it only makes matters worse. So all you can do is give it to God. Everything will fall in place and if it doesn’t He will reveal it not because we want it, too. Everything will be fine.

On if Yandy Smith will be managing her career:

Listen, I don’t want nobody managing me. (laughs) I’m uncontrollable. I really want to set my own little ways so it’s kind of hard for a manager to say that they’re going to manage me. We have to meet eye to eye.

The recent cat fight between VH1 “Love & Hip Hop” co-stars Kimbella and Chrissy Lampkin has the streets buzzing like crazy this week. After we all saw the fiasco, we knew there’d be someone ready to talk about it on the air.

Listen to the clip below to find out from Yandy & TT Torrez exactly how the drama really went down on the show plus Yandy’s biggest fear about being a reality TV star.

On her early background in the entertainment industry:

I started out at Violator Records as soon as I came out of college. We had Tweet, Missy Elliott, 50 Cent…you name it, if they were hot, we had them at Violator. Afterwards, I branched off and I was at Atlantic Records for awhile. After Atlantic, I went and became partners with Mona Scott Young. We had a management company called Monami Entertainment and I’m the president of that company.

On why Kimbella was invited to Emily B’s party:

You guys didn’t see when Emily invited both of us. She invited both of us at the same time. You guys see 30-second snippets of events, but at my jewelry party that was a three-hour long taping. How long did they actually show it? About 30 seconds?

On whether or not Kimbella should’ve dropped the bomb on Emily B at her own party in front of everybody:

Absolutely not!

On whether or not Chrissy was appropriate for her response to knocking Kimbella out:

Aside from that being the mother of Jewelz’s child and his girlfriend, I brought her as my friend. Whether she was invited or if she came with me, I’ve already made it clear to everybody that this is my friend. So just like if I brought one of my friends to Chrissy’s event, I wouldn’t allow one of my friends to disrespect Chrissy. It just put me in a very awkward position and at that point was close to both of them.

On whether there’s truth to the rumors about how Jewelz gave Emily B a beat down:

No, absolutely not.

On managing Mama Jones and her new single:

You guys have to watch and see what happens on the show. I can say this though, I love that woman as if she was my auntie. She cracks me up. You know how some people you can get that gut-wrenching laughter out? That’s how it goes down with Mama Jones. I love her. She’s hilarious.

On her main reason for appearing on VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop”:

I’ve been behind the scenes for a long time. I love being behind the scenes, this is so different for me, but I wanted to be the voice for those women who have been in this industry grinding and have been working hard for years and don’t get the recognition.
